In Brazil, various exotic birds are introduced illegally out of the country. In Minnesota, a blue parrot cub falls from a truck and is found by a girl named Linda who calls him Blue and raises him. Highly domesticated and unable to fly, the parrot is often ridiculed by Canadian geese. One day, however, the ornithologist Túlio Monteiro invites Blu and Linda to Rio de Janeiro because Blu, who is the last known male of his species, must mate with the last known female.
